Level I Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $32-48 per hour

Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Level I Location Saint Louis, Missouri Employment Type Staff – Ongoing Schedule 4x10s (rotating start times 10A/12P), 24 hours of call per schedule Scope of Practice 90‑bed PACU post‑anesthesia care, recovering patients from neuro, transplant, orthopaedic, ENT, cardiac, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and spine procedures Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing care standards Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment Educate patients and families on post‑treatment home care and medication administration Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance Develop, implement, and document individual care plans with defined goals, collaborating with interprofessional team members Ensure proactive communication of care plans across the continuum of care Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care Assess patient preferences, barriers to involvement, and cultural, spiritual, and population‑specific needs Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing Licensure: RN Experience: No prior nursing or supervisory experience required Preferred Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher Less than 2 years of experience desired Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and legal services available from the first day of the month after hire Disability insurance paid by BJC Annual 4% automatic retirement contribution 401(k) plan with BJC match Tuition assistance available on the first day Flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care Paid time off (vacation, sick days, holidays, personal time combined) Adoption assistance Additional Information Bonus eligible BJC has determined this is a safety‑sensitive position.
