Acute Medicine Schukar Unit Registered Nurse - Nights Location: Valley Park, Missouri Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Role Overview The Schukar Unit is an intimate acute medicine unit with a 13-bed capacity. Nurses care for adult patients with complex medical conditions including renal, endocrine, neurological, gastrointestinal/urinary, pulmonary, infectious disease, and cardiology. Position Highlights $15,000 Sign On Bonus eligible 12‑hour night shifts (7pm to 7am) 1:4‑5 nursing‑to‑patient ratio Comprehensive employee benefits effective first month after start date 401(k) with match Tuition assistance available day‑one for continuing education Responsibilities Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within guidelines of nursing standards. Promote patient and family centered care, educate patients and families on illness management and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance and engage in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Ensure proactive communication and continuity of care across the continuum. Use critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations. Maintain constant state of alertness as this is a safety‑sensitive position. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience: No prior RN experience required. Supervisor Experience: None. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
