Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse – Valley Park, Missouri Role Overview Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Responsibilities Administer conscious sedation to patients during procedures and continually assess sedation level. Manage patient airway throughout procedures. Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Participate in patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance activities. Educate patients and their families on illness management, home‑care needs and medication administration. Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Proactively plan and ensure communication of care plans across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial and emotional needs according to standards of care. Participate in professional development activities. Additional Preferred Requirements Prior Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Cardiac Cath Lab experience (at least 2 years of bedside experience). Must live within 30 minutes of Barnes‑Jewish Hospital for call requirement. Acceptable credentials: ADN, BSN, or MSN candidates. BSN differential consideration. 10‑hour shifts (7:00am – 5:30pm); no nights, weekends or holidays. Call requirement: 1 weeknight and every 3rd‑4th weekend. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s – Nursing (no prior experience required). Licenses & Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN). Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
