Make a difference in the educational journey of students by working as a paraprofessional in a supportive school environment near San Mateo, CA. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers and staff to provide essential assistance to students in the classroom.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience supporting children or youth in educational or care settings
- Ability to follow teachers’ directions and classroom routines
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable to students’ varying needs
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or related certifications a plus)
- Willingness to pass background checks and comply with school safety requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering instruction and managing classroom activities
- Provide individual or small-group support to students with academic or behavioral needs
- Help facilitate positive student engagement and encourage participation
- Support students with assignments, organization, and classroom transitions
- Monitor student behavior and report observations to teaching staff
- Prepare learning materials and maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
