Business Development Director, Gimbal Payload

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Director, Gimbal Payload based in United States. Join a strategic leadership role focused on expanding the market presence of advanced ISR payload and sensing technologies across North America and the broader Americas region. This position offers the opportunity to drive business growth by developing customer relationships, shaping capture strategies, and supporting innovative aerospace and defense solutions. You'll work closely with technical, product, and executive teams while engaging government agencies, prime contractors, and commercial customers. Combining technical expertise with commercial leadership, you'll influence product direction, identify new market opportunities, and help bring next‑generation sensor technologies to mission‑critical applications. Accountabilities Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to increase revenue, expand market share, and strengthen the presence of advanced ISR payload solutions throughout the Americas. Build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, defense organizations, prime contractors, commercial customers, and key industry stakeholders to identify and pursue new business opportunities. Lead capture activities from opportunity identification through proposal development, negotiations, and contract award, while supporting responses to RFIs, RFPs, technical briefings, and white papers. Evaluate customer mission requirements and recommend appropriate sensing and payload solutions by leveraging expertise in EO/IR technologies and related architectures. Collaborate with engineering, product management, marketing, and leadership teams to define product roadmaps, support technology development initiatives, and create competitive market strategies. Monitor market trends, competitive positioning, customer needs, and sales performance while managing forecasts, business plans, and revenue objectives. Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and executive briefings, communicating complex technical solutions in a clear and compelling manner. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field. 8–10+ years of business development, sales, or strategic growth experience within aerospace, defense, or other highly technical industries. Demonstrated success selling electro‑optical/infrared (EO/IR) payloads, sensor technologies, or comparable advanced technical solutions to government, commercial, or international customers. Strong understanding of EO, IR, spectral, laser, RF, or remote sensing technologies, with the ability to align technical capabilities to customer mission requirements. Established relationships and knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, civil government, or related defense ecosystems. Proven ability to develop capture strategies, lead complex pursuits, negotiate business opportunities, and consistently achieve revenue growth objectives. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Self‑motivated leader with strong strategic thinking, organizational abilities, and the flexibility to travel as required. Ability to meet U.S. export control requirements, including eligibility under applicable ITAR and/or EAR regulations.
