Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities, creating customized treatment plans that align with their individual goals and lifestyle needs.
• Deliver compassionate therapy sessions, employing a variety of techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and advanced modalities tailored for the geriatric population.
• Regularly monitor and document each patient's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery and improvement.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians and specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, home care strategies, and injury prevention techniques necessary for independence and safety.
• Implement safety programs, focusing on fall prevention and effective methods to minimize risks in assisted living situations.
• Engage in professional development by pursuing continuing education and staying updated on the latest advancements in physical therapy practices.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and a commitment to delivering exceptional care to all patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily involves working with elderly patients, many of whom face age-related mobility challenges, chronic conditions, or those recovering from surgery. You will help these individuals regain their strength, improve their movement, and enhance their overall well-being, ensuring they can lead independent lives in their own homes or within the community.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required; candidates with higher degrees in the field will be considered favorably.
• An active state licensure as a Physical Therapist is essential.

Compensation and Benefits
