Associate Attorney - Workers' Compensation 

Salary $110k-$150k salary(dependent on experience)

Chicago, IL | In-office position

A growing and well-respected Chicago-based law firm specializing in Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about advocating for injured workers and wants to build a long-term career with a collaborative firm that values client service, professional growth, and results.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Illinois workers' compensation matters from intake through resolution.
• Represent injured workers at arbitrations, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Conduct client consultations and maintain strong client relationships throughout the legal process.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions as needed.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers.
• Collaborate with partners and support staff to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all deadlines and procedural requirements before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Illinois Bar license in good standing.
• 2+ years of plaintiff-side Illinois Workers' Compensation experience required.
• Strong knowledge of Illinois Workers' Compensation laws and procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload while working effectively within a team environment.
• Personal Injury experience is a plus but not required.
