About the Role

The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel with a focus on P&C insurance and commercial transactions within an MGA. The successful candidate will be the sole attorney managing the legal function for the MGA platform and broader P&C insurance operations. This role is pivotal, serving as the primary legal advisor to MGA operations and insurance business leaders, and involves a wide range of responsibilities including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements, advising on insurance regulatory matters, and partnering with the business on legal issues. The position is highly visible and business-facing, with a significant emphasis on providing legal guidance for strategic acquisitions and other enterprise-wide initiatives. Applicants must have a J.D. and active U.S. Bar admission, with 6-14+ years of legal experience, preferably within an MGA, P&C insurance carrier, reinsurer, or insurance services organization. Essential qualifications include a strong background in property and casualty insurance, experience in drafting and negotiating insurance program and distribution agreements, and a solid understanding of insurance regulatory compliance. The role requires a business-minded attorney capable of working independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and experience in supporting corporate transactions and cross-functional business initiatives is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a proactive partner to executive and business unit leaders, with the ability to provide practical legal guidance on a wide range of issues impacting the business.
