Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company’s receivables, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances while maintaining excellent customer service. Your expertise in accounting systems, financial concepts, and data analysis will drive efficiency and accuracy in our revenue cycle management. Duties

Process and monitor accounts receivable transactions using various accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, Foundation for Construction and other financial systems
Reconcile customer accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies through effective negotiation and communication
Prepare detailed journal entries and perform account analysis to support month-end closing activities
Conduct account reconciliation activities, including double entry bookkeeping and account analysis, to maintain compliance with GAAP and SOX standards
Perform data entry with precision using 10 key typing skills and Excel formulas to analyze financial data for reporting purposes
Follow up on overdue accounts through professional phone etiquette and customer service skills to optimize collections

Experience

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts receivable management, ideally within public accounting or financial services industries
Strong knowledge of accounting software such as, Sage, PeopleSoft, Foundation for Construction or similar platforms; experience with Excel data analysis is essential
Familiarity with SOX compliance, GAAP standards, and technical accounting principles
Experience handling accounts payable alongside receivable functions is preferred but not required
Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, analyze financial statements, and execute journal entries accurately
Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining professional phone etiquette
