Overview RxSight is a biomedical device company based in Aliso Viejo, California, is seeking candidates for a research position in its Optics R&D Division. This job involves working with a team of scientists to develop a light-adjustable intraocular lens for use in cataract and refractive surgery. Job Type Full-time Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assists with optical testing of the RxLAL and related products, including interferometric, MTF, regular product monitoring, and other measurements. Work in the laboratory to assist with development of nomograms for the light adjustable lens. Prepare and present data summary and engineering documentation. Confers with engineering and technical staff regarding fabrication and testing of prototype systems, and modifies design as required. Design and commercialize new products based on light adjustable materials technology. Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Modify hardware equipment as needed. Design and build test and manufacturing fixtures as needed. Requirements Practical experience with general optical testing techniques and metrology including interferometry, MTF, radius of curvature, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software (or equivalent). Experience with designing, engineering, fabrication, and alignment of optical systems. Synthesizes complex or diverse information, collects and researches data, designs work flows and procedures. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, develops alternative solutions, works well in group problem solving situations. Strives to continuously build knowledge base and skills sets. Presents numerical data effectively and can read and interpret written information. Supervisory Responsibilities None Education, Experience, And Training Successful candidates must have either a AS (with 3+ years of experience in related fields) or BS degree in optics, optical engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field.
