Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive physical therapy treatment plans based on client assessments and physician prescriptions.
• Direct the physical therapy treatment process aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, improving muscle function, and facilitating maximal performance based on each client's abilities.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants to ensure the accurate implementation of treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical conditions using diagnostic tests and assessments to analyze muscle, nerve, and joint function.
• Assess home environments for rehabilitation effectiveness and provide recommendations for modifying spaces to promote client independence.
• Provide manual therapeutic exercises, instruct clients on functional activities, and motivate them throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Administer additional treatments such as traction, massage, and the application of various physical agents aligned with best practices in physical therapy.
• Evaluate and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal client support.
• Document clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to OASIS guidelines.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to review and refine client treatment plans, ensuring collaborative care approaches.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare colleagues to provide updates on client conditions and treatment progress.
• Instruct clients and their families on the use and care of physical therapy equipment, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources needed for effective recovery.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) with a valid licensure to practice in New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in an acute care or home care setting.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team while also possessing strong leadership qualities.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in home health settings is preferred but not mandatory.
• A background in working with a wide variety of patient populations, including geriatric, orthopedic, and neurological patients.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
