HR Generalist / HR Assistant
Prairie Eye & LASIK is seeking a reliable and highly organized HR Generalist / HR Assistant to support the daily functions of our Human Resources department. This position works directly under the Operations Director and plays a key role in assisting with HR processes across our multi-location ophthalmology practice. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting people, staying organized, and contributing to a positive workplace culture in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR function and Operations Director
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
- Support onboarding processes, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation, and ensuring completion of required documentation
- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist employees with basic HR-related questions and direct more complex issues to leadership as appropriate
- Help coordinate employee training, compliance requirements, and credentialing documentation (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.)
- Support benefits administration by assisting with enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Assist with payroll preparation by ensuring accurate employee data and time-off tracking
- Help track PTO requests, attendance, and other employee data
- Support performance management processes by assisting with documentation and scheduling
- Assist in maintaining and updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials
- Help organize employee engagement initiatives, meetings, and internal communications
- Responsible for corporate safety, including drills (fire, tornado)
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of administrative or HR support experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- May require occasional travel between clinic locations
