Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and challenges faced by students and their families.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, utilizing appropriate social work interventions.
\n
• Provide education and counseling to families regarding adaptation strategies for managing the impact of illness or life stressors on their child's educational experience.
\n
• Facilitate discharge planning by collaborating with the healthcare team, including physicians and nurses, to ensure that students receive comprehensive post-treatment support.
\n
• Engage in crisis intervention while offering both short-term and long-term therapeutic solutions through individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
\n
• Assist in the coordination of services for students with complex needs, ensuring seamless transitions through various levels of care.
\n
• Present educational workshops and training sessions for school staff to enhance knowledge surrounding psychosocial challenges faced by students.

• Evaluate oncology patients specifically for mental health challenges like depression and anxiety, providing crucial short-term counseling and support.

• Contribute to community outreach programs, enhancing awareness of mental health resources available to families and supporting cancer survivors in the community.

• Participate in on-call rotations for after-hour support and to ensure continued care for students in urgent situations.

Your primary focus will be on school-aged children and adolescents, addressing a range of issues including academic stress, anxiety, depression, and the psychological effects of chronic illness. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders including teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals, to create a supportive network that prioritizes the mental health and well-being of each student.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) is required; a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) with clinical licensure (LCSW) is strongly preferred.

• Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado.

• Strong understanding of psychosocial assessment techniques and therapeutic interventions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to connect with diverse populations.

• Experience in school settings or with children is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working in pediatric mental health or educational settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience.
