Administrative Assistant

Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists

Job Summary:

Responsible to help the Lead Pastor fulfill the Mission and Vision of the East Pasco Adventist Church. Provides administrative and clerical support to include but is not limited to preparing written correspondence, answering phones, managing files, mail distribution, and oversee volunteer secretaries. Absolute confidentiality required. Accountable to Lead Pastor and Church Board.


Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

Spiritual Gifts Desired: Discernment, Leadership, Communication Skills, and People Skills. 


Job Responsibilities:

  1. To fulfill special projects as requested by the Lead Pastor.
  2. To work with the Lead Pastor to fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
  3. To interact and communicate with persons of diverse backgrounds.
  4. To coordinate the work of the Volunteer Office Secretaries.
  5. To manage the Church Calendar and Directory.
  6. To manage the Church Phone System.
  7. To communicate with church officers and members on behalf of the pastors.
  8. To manage the church’s rental contracts.
  9. To live by the values, ethics, beliefs, and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  10. To work 20 hours each week at the office, except on Florida Conference approved holidays. While there is room for weekly flexibility, the ideal hours would be Monday for 6 hours, Wednesday for 7 hours, Thursday for 7 hours.
  11. To attend weekly Staff Meetings (Wednesdays 10:00am) and bi-monthly Church Board Meetings.
  12. To greet and assist visitors in a positive and gracious manner.
