Physical Therapist - School Setting in Wilmington, DE

Step into a vital role supporting student success by providing dedicated physical therapy services in a school-based environment with a flexible contract opportunity. This position offers the chance to work closely with both in-school students and a small number of medically homebound students, ensuring access to essential care across the district.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Delaware Physical Therapist license required at time of application
  • Experience delivering physical therapy services in school settings is highly valued
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally to serve homebound students as needed
  • Excellent collaboration skills to partner with teachers, administrators, and families
  • Adaptable to fluctuating caseloads and varying student needs across the academic year
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate, student-centered care in diverse educational environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive physical therapy to students in both school buildings and homebound settings (as assigned)
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs based on student needs and IEP goals
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other service providers to integrate therapy into educational plans
  • Track and document student progress, maintain accurate records, and report outcomes
  • Recommend adaptations, equipment, or supports to facilitate student participation in the school setting
  • Rotate among district school sites depending on assignment and caseload fluctuations
