As a Sous Chef, you will support the Chef in leading daily kitchen operations across Prepared Foods, Catering, and other foodservice areas. You’ll help ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency while developing and motivating a high-performing team that delivers the exceptional products our customers know and love. Routine Tasks: Support the Chef in leading daily kitchen operations across Prepared Foods, Catering, and other foodservice areas Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency, with a focus on authentic Italian flavors Follow and enforce food safety standards, including HACCP guidelines for time, temperature, and handling Execute production schedules, ensuring proper quantities are prepared while minimizing waste Monitor portion control, recipe adherence, and overall product consistency Track inventory levels, support ordering, and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO), labeling, and dating Record production data, including prepared quantities and waste, to support forecasting and efficiency Train, motivate, and support team members to maintain strong performance and accountability Assist in implementing kitchen strategies aligned with company goals and operational standards Perform additional tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager or store leadership Qualifications: Minimum of one year of experience in high-volume or quantity food production ServSafe Certification and/or current Food Manager Certification preferred Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and kitchen operations Ability to accurately measure ingredients, follow recipes, and adjust quantities as needed Experience with inventory tracking and basic data entry Ability to plan, organize, and manage workload with minimal supervision Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions A passion for serving people Physical & Work Environment A Sous Chef works primarily in a kitchen and food production environment. This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, frequent exposure to varying temperatures, and lifting products up to 50 pounds. The position requires working with kitchen equipment and maintaining a fast pace while collaborating closely with team members.
