Accounts Payable Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization located in Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing accounting team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment and enjoys working collaboratively with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently
• Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and departments
• Manage vendor setup and maintenance, including collecting W-9s and required documentation
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
• Reconcile vendor statements and promptly resolve discrepancies
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account issues
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies
• Support accounting and finance team projects as needed

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent accounts payable experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting our similar concentration is highly preferred
• Experience processing a high volume of invoices in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of AP processes, account coding, and vendor management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
