Accounting Manager

A well established food and beverage manufacturer in San Antonio is hiring an accounting manager to lead its accounting function during an exciting period of growth. This is a hands on seat with real ownership over cost accounting and month end close, working directly with senior leadership rather than buried under layers of finance staff.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month end/quarter end/year end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls
• Direct experience managing or overseeing an AP/AR function
• Genuine hands on manufacturing environment experience, with real exposure to production, ingredients/materials, and labor cost inputs
• Strong cost accounting experience: product costing, bills of materials, margin analysis, and cost driven pricing recommendations
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• ERP system experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:
• Own month end, quarter end, and year end close, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial statements
• Manage one direct report handling AP/AR, vendor payments, invoicing, and collections
• Partner with operations leadership on production and ingredient costing, margin analysis, and cost driven pricing decisions
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis alongside executive leadership
• Maintain internal controls and support external audit and tax requirements
• Use ERP and Excel tools to improve reporting, reconciliations, and accounting workflows
