Accounting Manager

A growing, privately held food & beverage manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to take ownership of the accounting function and serve as a key financial partner to the Accounting and Finance executive team. This is an elevated role with significant visibility and an opportunity to make an immediate impact within a company entering an aggressive growth phase. Responsibilities Lead the full month-end and year-end close , including GL, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting. Own day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR oversight, bank reconciliations, inventory accounting and payroll reconciliation . Lead manufacturing cost accounting , including inventory, costing, production variances and related analysis. Own sales tax , audit coordination and tax-related activities. Support forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis in partnership with the Director of FP&A. Partner with a manufacturing operation in Mexico on accounting and cost-related activities. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting and efficiency. Lead and develop a small accounting team, including one direct report. Qualifications Strong hands-on accounting background with experience owning a full accounting function or close process . Proven manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, inventory and general ledger accounting. Experience with sales tax, audits and tax support . Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities. Experience with an ERP system Leadership experience preferred, but strong Senior Accountants or Assistant Controllers ready to step into an Accounting Manager role will be considered. Ability to work fully onsite in San Antonio.
