Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections - SCI Somerset

THE POSITION As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections with the Department of Corrections, you will guide important treatment services at SCI Somerset. You will support a team of psychological staff while helping to shape programs that address the needs of inmates. This position allows you to use your clinical expertise to strengthen mental health care in a unique and rewarding environment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position manages psychological services and leads clinical programs that support treatment needs within SCI Somerset. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties: Staff Supervision: Oversee and participate with psychological staff screening inmates, reviewing referrals for evaluations, and formulating treatment objectives Program Leadership: Develop and implement psychological services programs and integrate new procedures Committee Oversight: Lead key mental health and review committees within the institution Clinical Evaluation: Review and interpret psychological tests and prepare diagnostic reports Specialized Consultation: Provide guidance on mental health treatment issues, program development, and case management plans Legal and Compliance: Testify as needed and ensure accreditation standards for psychological services are met Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55 Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction Special Requirements: You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out‑of‑state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title You must be able to perform essential job functions Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements EXAMINATION INFORMATION Completing the application, including all supplemental questions, serves as your exam for this position.
