Senior Property Accountant

A growing real estate investment and property management organization is seeking a talented Senior Property Accountant to join its finance team. Competitive compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 + discretionary bonus Flexible hybrid schedule after training, including work-from-home opportunities Exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial, mixed-use, retail, office, and multifamily assets Highly collaborative environment with direct interaction across finance, operations, leasing, and asset management Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies Strong potential for professional growth and advancement within a growing organization What You'll Do Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages for an assigned real estate portfolio Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Review financial results, investigate variances, and ensure compliance with GAAP Record and reconcile rental income, CAM recoveries, percentage rent, and other property revenues Review lease abstracts and ensure lease terms are accurately reflected within financial systems Perform cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and funding coordination Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and budget-to-actual analyses Support ownership reporting, lender reporting, audits, refinancing efforts, and due diligence activities Review tenant reconciliations, lease provisions, and operating expense settlements Partner with property management, asset management, leasing, and operations teams to support business objectives Help drive process improvements and increased accounting efficiencies What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5 years of property accounting experience, ideally within commercial real estate Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience preparing financial statements for multiple properties or entities Knowledge of CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and tenant billing processes Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities Experience with property management accounting software, preferably Yardi Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Ideal Candidate This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced real estate environment and takes pride in producing accurate financial reporting.
