Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough intake assessments, screenings, and clinical interviews to identify students' mental health needs and outline appropriate treatment plans.

• Deliver short-term individual counseling sessions, providing crisis intervention services based on evidence-based practices tailored to the college setting.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops focused on themes relevant to student well-being, such as stress management and coping strategies.

• Collaborate with various campus partners, including academic advisors and residential life staff, to create a holistic approach to student support and engagement.

• Engage in campus outreach initiatives, including mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events to educate the student body on available resources.

• Ensure accurate documentation of counseling sessions and maintain confidentiality in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily supports a diverse student population facing unique mental health challenges associated with college life. You will provide assistance to individuals experiencing academic stress, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and transitional difficulties. Your role is vital in helping students develop resilience and strategies for success while they pursue their academic goals.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Clinical Psychologist.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
\n
• A strong understanding of the mental health issues specific to the college demographic, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse student body and work effectively in a collaborative environment.

• Experience with brief therapy models and evidence-based techniques suitable for university counseling.

• Capacity to manage a varied caseload effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health counseling setting, preferably in a university or college environment.
