The role of a Mental Health Counselor at Insightful Journeys Counseling Center is designed to be flexible and accommodating, primarily functioning in a remote setting. Our team members enjoy a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as necessary to meet patient needs. Engaging in virtual meetings and telehealth sessions, you will interact with colleagues and clients to deliver the highest standard of care from anywhere. This innovative approach allows us to reach those in the Chicago area who might be in need of our services.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform comprehensive mental health assessments to identify and understand the needs of children and adolescents.

• Collaborate with families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the unique developmental and family dynamics associated with each young patient.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and various behavioral disorders.

• Conduct family therapy sessions aimed at equipping parents and caregivers with strategies to create nurturing environments conducive to their children's growth.
\n
• Facilitate crisis intervention sessions when urgent mental health needs arise, ensuring prompt support and guidance for children and families in distress.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, available treatment options, and connect them to community resources for additional support.

• Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document services and progress.

• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case consultations and professional development initiatives.

• Stay informed on advances in clinical practices and therapeutic techniques specific to child and adolescent mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents experiencing various mental health issues that can affect their academic performance and personal relationships. By working collaboratively with families and other professionals, you will provide holistic support aimed at improving the emotional and mental resilience of young patients. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.

• A strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health disorders, with a focus on evidence-based treatment methodologies.

• Demonstrated experience providing individual and family counseling services to young individuals.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to connect with children, adolescents, and their families in a compassionate manner.

• Proficiency in EHR systems and familiarity with telehealth applications, enabling effective service delivery in a remote setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience working within a mental health setting with children and adolescents.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this role ranges from USD 80,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
