Grace Place Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote position. As a Mental Health Counselor specializing in telehealth services, you will play an essential role in improving the mental and emotional well-being of our diverse clientele. Your responsibilities will encompass delivering high-quality therapeutic services, including evaluations, treatment plan development, and facilitating various therapeutic modalities through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments through telephonic or video consultations, documenting clients' histories and current challenges from the point of intake through the treatment process.
\n
• Utilize validated evaluation techniques to assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, helping to identify areas of growth and intervention.
\n
• Create individualized treatment plans that outline specific therapeutic goals and strategies tailored to the unique needs of each client, which may involve individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions via telehealth platforms, adapting strategies in response to participant feedback and progress.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes, employing data-driven decisions.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals—including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers—to develop comprehensive intervention strategies.
\n
• Follow up with healthcare providers regarding clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
\n
• Educate and support family members and primary caregivers to better manage their loved ones' mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our counseling center serves a wide range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. We see individuals facing various challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and addiction issues. Our culturally competent approach enables us to provide care that respects and understands the unique backgrounds and situations of each client.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor, preferably in a telehealth capacity.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate clinical documentation.
\n
• Broad understanding of co-occurring physical and mental health conditions, alongside experience in addiction treatment.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, alongside excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing group therapy and facilitating educational workshops for clients and families.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices effectively.

• A background working with diverse populations, including underserved communities, is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer an attractive annual salary ranging between USD 80,000 and 100,000, along with a sign-on bonus for successful candidates.
