Accounting Manager

We're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to help us keep our financial house in order as we scale. You'll own the day-to-day accounting operations, lead month-end close, and make sure our books are accurate, timely, and audit-ready. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys building process, mentoring a small team, and working cross-functionally with a fast-moving finance org. Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all ledgers Manage and mentor a small team of staff accountants, providing guidance on daily transactions and technical accounting questions Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support external audits and tax filings, working directly with outside auditors and tax advisors Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting processes Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and systems as the company scales Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards, particularly for SaaS and subscription-based revenue 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing or mentoring others Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA preferred, not required Strong working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes Experience with modern accounting software (e.g., NetSuite (preferred), Quickbooks, or similar ERP systems, Ramp, Brex, Salesforce) Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology company a plus Excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in building clean, scalable processes Strong communication skills — you can explain the numbers clearly to non-finance stakeholders A collaborative mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment About Cents Cents is a New York-based technology company building the leading platform for the $40+ billion laundry and dry cleaning industry, helping laundromats, dry cleaners, and garment care businesses start, manage, and grow.
