The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys learning complex operational processes, building strong partnerships, supporting strategic initiatives, and leading teams through change and growth. Success in this role requires the ability to think strategically about team structure, coverage, operational effectiveness, and long-term business needs.Job ResponsibilitiesDirectly and through staff, manage and coordinate operational activities for assigned functional areas while ensuring quality service and effective operational support for internal and external customers. Responsibilities include:Lead and develop a team of approximately nine employees across multiple operational specialties.Establish goals, provide coaching and feedback, measure performance, and build accountability across the team.Monitor operational workflows and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.Review operational exceptions and provide approvals for designated transactions and transfers.Support risk management activities by reviewing payment operations and maintaining appropriate controls.Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective process handoffs and operational collaboration.Oversee adherence to corporate policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.Participate in the evaluation and enhancement of operational systems, processes, and controls.Support ongoing business initiatives and operational projects while maintaining oversight of daily operations.Develop an understanding of Benefit Payment Services operations and the broader IT&C business to support strategic decision-making and organizational goals.What You'll LeadBenefit Payment Services supports a variety of operational activities including:Pension and benefit payment processingPayment corrections and reversalsWire, ACH, and check transactionsTax payment administration and filingsIRS and regulatory support activitiesNew client onboarding and project-related initiativesBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree, or equivalent work experienceTypically five or more years of relevant experiencePreferred Skills and ExperienceThorough knowledge of operational functions, systems, procedures, and products supported by the assigned areaStrong operational leadership and employee development skillsProven ability to manage service delivery, operational performance, and risk-related activitiesAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailExcellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and business functionsUnderstanding of applicable federal and state laws and regulationsStrong organizational, project management, and prioritization skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environmentProficiency with Microsoft Excel; advanced technical skills are not required for success in this role.Location ExpectationsThis position follows a hybrid work model and requires employees to work in the office 60% of scheduled workdays each week.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.
