Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $3,452 per week

Thrive Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Tacoma, Washington. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (LD RN) General Information Location: City, State Bed Capacity: 3415 labor rooms, 12 antepartum, 4 OB ED, 3 OR, 18 Postpartum Beds Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, with at least 1 year of travel experience preferred. Must have solid charge nurse experience and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience for first-time travelers. Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN). Experience in high acuity labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients. Ability to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, conduct cervical checks, and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips. EPIC experience is required. Patient Types Provide care for a diverse population of patients with high acuity conditions such as: Hypertension Magnesium administration C-sections (33% cesarean rate) Preterm labor Insulin drips (rarely, following protocol) Vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions Care for multiple births Postpartum hemorrhage Approximately 300 deliveries are managed per month. Patient Ratios 1:1 for active labor 1:2 for non-active laboring patients 1:2-3 for antepartum patients, dependent on acuity Unit Support CNA support for transportation, restocking, assisting in OR, and room clean-up. Scrub Techs: LPNs who are NRP certified. Receptionist/HUC and available phlebotomy services. Resource RN support, subject to staffing. Scheduled Break Nurses on shift. 24/7 Respiratory Therapy availability for high-risk deliveries. Technology and Equipment EMR: EPIC required IV pumps: Alaris CareFusion Medication dispensing: Pyxis Fetal Surveillance: Centricity/QxE Epidural Pumps: CAD Solaris Panda Warmers Coviden SCDs Orientation and Scheduling Employee orientation consists of: General facility orientation plus 2 weeks on unit with an additional week of independent work. ANM orientation includes 6 shifts paired with a Charge Nurse. Shifts are primarily: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 for LD RN 1900-0700 for ANM Weekend rotation is every other weekend, though it may vary based on staffing needs. Time Off Requests are to be submitted prior to contract approval. Holiday Expectations Holiday coverage is equitable across staff, with opportunities for supplemental shifts available as needed.
