Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-8 students as a Special Education Teacher. In this role, you’ll provide academic, emotional, and physical support for students who thrive with individualized attention, partnering closely with a dedicated school team to supervise and advance learners according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Your daily work will focus on both push-in and pull-out services, with an average caseload of 20 students—primarily supporting reading (fluency and comprehension) and foundational math skills for children with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Delays (DD).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (required)
• Valid LBS1 Teacher Certification and Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Minimum 1-5 years of relevant teaching experience
• Demonstrated belief in the college- and career-readiness of all students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds
• Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities and needs
• Strong communication skills—verbal and written
• Initiative, creativity, and a collaborative approach
• Mastery of academic content and behavioral interventions

Responsibilities:

• Deliver and adapt instruction in collaboration with general education teachers and support staff
• Implement IEP goals systematically, developing students’ potential in both academic and behavioral domains
• Maintain high expectations for both self and students in personal and team performance
• Monitor student progress, documenting growth and adjusting strategies
• Cultivate a positive learning environment emphasizing character development and high achievement
