Exciting opportunities are available for motivated and compassionate Special Education Teachers in a dynamic elementary setting near Cicero, IL. These full-time, contract positions are scheduled for the 2026-2027 academic year, commencing in late August and concluding in mid-June. As a valued educator in a collaborative and supportive environment, you will work Monday through Friday for 35 hours each week, with structured breaks for lunch and planning.

Ideal candidates bring expertise in delivering instruction and supports to K-4 students within a resource model. This position involves servicing a manageable caseload of 8-12 students, providing both pull-out targeted instruction and push-in support in general education classrooms. You will play a vital role in fostering academic growth and social-emotional development using best practices and evidence-based strategies.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois, or eligibility for comparable licensure via ISBE’s ELIS system. Out-of-state license holders are encouraged to seek PEL transfer guidance.
• Prior experience in special education resource settings (K-4 preferred).
• Demonstrated success supporting students with diverse learning profiles, including academic and behavioral/emotional needs.
• Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham methodologies such as SLANT, Wilson, or Sonday is highly valued.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs, adapting curricula and interventions to meet individual student needs.
• Deliver small-group and in-classroom (push-in) instruction in collaboration with general educators.
• Monitor and document student progress, engaging regularly with families and interdisciplinary teams.
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture that encourages participation and growth.
