Job Description
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid and current Occupational Therapist license for New York State
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Prior experience, or strong interest, working in a school-based or pediatric setting
- Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and goal setting
- Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families
- Strong organizational abilities for managing a busy caseload
- Adaptability and compassion for diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services tailored to student goals
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to IEP process
- Document progress, maintain compliance, and communicate outcomes
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support student participation in daily school activities
- Utilize evidence-based practices for interventions and therapy delivery
- Balance caseload management with ongoing updates to records and reports
