As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Credentials in Rockaway, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Thursday 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM How This Role Works Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. Responsibilities Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor information, and help to deter unauthorized access at the location. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to property protocols. Conduct regular and random patrols around the residential location and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by site. Document daily activities, access‑related events, and unusual conditions, and communicate security‑related information to property contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership. Minimum Requirements Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience. Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client. Be at least 21 years of age. Access control and badge experience is preferred. A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
