The Opportunity

We are seeking a PM Back of House (Kitchen) Director to join the leadership team at Chick-fil-A Medina. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing people, building high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence.

As the Kitchen Director, you will lead our evening Back of House operations, coaching leaders and Team Members while ensuring exceptional food quality, food safety, speed, and consistency. You will take ownership of kitchen execution throughout the evening, ensuring the team is prepared to meet demand while maintaining high standards for cleanliness, efficiency, and hospitality.

Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you will oversee daily Back of House operations, develop future leaders, and build systems that promote accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

This role goes beyond managing shifts. You will help create the structure, develop the people, and strengthen the operational practices that allow the kitchen to perform at a high level every day.

This position is specifically designed for a leader with PM/evening availability, with working hours between 2:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

Your Impact

Lead and Develop People

• Lead and develop a high-performing Back of House team of 30+ Team Members.
• Coach, mentor, and develop future leaders through intentional leadership development.
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence.
• Set clear expectations and ensure Team Members are equipped with the training and resources needed to succeed.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop Back of House Team Members.
• Provide consistent feedback, recognition, and coaching to strengthen team performance.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Oversee afternoon and evening Back of House operations to ensure consistent execution of Chick-fil-A standards.
• Ensure food quality, speed, accuracy, and consistency throughout the evening.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and proper food handling practices.
• Ensure operational positions, staffing plans, and shift responsibilities are clearly defined and executed.
• Monitor labor deployment and adjust operational execution to meet business needs.
• Ensure closing procedures are completed thoroughly and the kitchen is prepared for the next business day.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems, workflows, equipment utilization, and kitchen layout.
• Monitor operational performance and address gaps through coaching, training, and improved processes.

Manage Resources and Financial Performance

• Monitor food cost, waste, inventory, and labor efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and strengthen profitability.
• Ensure inventory and product levels support operational needs while maintaining responsible stewardship.
• Use performance metrics to identify trends, address operational gaps, and improve results.
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to support restaurant goals and long-term operational success.

Build a Strong Kitchen Culture

• Create an environment where Team Members are challenged, supported, and developed.
• Maintain high standards for organization, cleanliness, and equipment care.
• Hold leaders and Team Members accountable while building positive relationships.
• Partner with the leadership team to ensure consistency between day and evening operations.
• Develop systems and leaders that support sustainable performance beyond any one shift.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or similar fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
• Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable while maintaining positive relationships.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with scheduling, food safety, inventory, food cost, or operational metrics preferred.
• A proactive mindset with a desire to improve systems and operational performance.
• Strong commitment to food quality, food safety, and operational excellence.
• Passion for Chick-fil-A's values and servant leadership philosophy.
• Availability to work PM/evening shifts between 2:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

Work Schedule

• PM/evening availability only: Shifts scheduled within the 2:00 PM–11:00 PM window.
• Weekend availability required.
• Monday–Friday availability.
• Ability to lead afternoon, evening, and closing operations.
• Sunday availability is not required.
