Enchantment Resort is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team in Sedona, Arizona.

The Sous Chef will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef to support daily kitchen operations and deliver distinctive dining experiences inspired by Sedona's landscape, regional ingredients and culinary traditions.

This position requires a hands-on culinary leader who can maintain exceptional standards while supporting a positive, organized and accountable kitchen culture. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, consistency and a genuine commitment to developing the culinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef with daily culinary operations.
• Supervise kitchen preparation and service for the assigned outlet or area.
• Maintain an active presence on the line and ensure consistent execution during service.
• Assist with seasonal menu development, daily specials and culinary programming.
• Ensure dishes meet established standards for flavor, presentation, temperature and portioning.
• Train, mentor and provide daily direction to cooks and other culinary team members.
• Communicate expectations clearly and promote teamwork, accountability and professional growth.
• Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, food-cost management and waste reduction.
• Maintain accurate recipes, preparation standards and production levels.
• Conduct daily line checks and address quality or preparation concerns before service.
• Ensure proper receiving, storage, labeling, rotation and handling of all food products.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies safely and thoughtfully.
• Collaborate with culinary, restaurant, banquet and Food & Beverage leaders.
• Support special events, private dinners, chef collaborations and resort programming.
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional kitchen environment.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation, health, safety and company standards.
• Assume leadership of the kitchen in the absence of the Chef de Cuisine.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or experienced culinary supervisor within a luxury resort, hotel or high-end restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine and modern culinary techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train and motivate a culinary team.
• Excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills.
• Working knowledge of food costs, purchasing, inventory and labor management.
• Ability to remain calm, organized and solutions-focused during busy services.
• Experience safely accommodating dietary restrictions and food allergies.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Luxury hospitality or destination-resort experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
