About the position We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Assistant to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting attorneys in Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury matters , excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with clients.
Spanish fluency is required , as the position involves frequent communication with Spanish-speaking clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury cases
- Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Assist with opening, maintaining, and organizing client files
- Prepare correspondence, legal documents, and other case-related materials
- Assist with gathering medical records, bills, and other documentation
- Maintain case calendars, deadlines, appointments, and follow-up tasks
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, appointments, documentation, and other case-related matters
- Assist with preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings
- Enter and maintain accurate case information in the firm’s case management system
- Perform general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior legal assistant experience required
- Experience with Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury law strongly preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and experience using Clio Manage is a plus
- Experience with other legal case management software is also a plus
