Environmental Operations Assistant

Pay: $23-$25/hr

As a key member of GFL's dynamic team the Environmental Operations Assistant will provide support to our Fleet and Operations groups in addition to warehouse support.

Job Duties:

• Sample inbound material, conduct screening analysis, record results
• Completion of hazardous waste manifests and cross border shipments
• Ensure accurate data entry
• Operate indoor forklift
• Unloading, loading, and labelling of hazardous waste
• Maintain a high level of organization in a fluid environment
• Communicate and liaise with customers and vendors
• Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
• Respond to emergencies and help with spills clean-up, if necessary
• Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable Regulations
• Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and customers
• Some overtime required
• Other duties as requested by Manager

Requirements:

• Environmental background preferred, but not required
• Strong organizational skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Exemplary communication skills
• Strong computer skills, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Awareness and understanding of waste management, RCRA, is an asset
• Ability to work in an office and warehouse environment
