Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist embedded in our home care facility, your work will be primarily onsite, providing in-home therapy sessions to our clients throughout East Brunswick, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement physical therapy treatment plans that prioritize pain relief, muscle function, and mobility restoration.
• Assess each client's physical capabilities through diagnostic tests, including muscle and nerve evaluations.
• Evaluate patients' homes to recommend modifications that promote independence and facilitate rehabilitation.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and assist clients with non-manual exercises and daily functional activities.
• Apply treatment modalities, such as massage, traction, and the use of physical agents, tailored to each client's health status.
• Evaluate, fit, and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices in collaboration with physicians to optimize client functionality.
• Contribute to care plan development, ensuring regular updates based on client progress and responses to therapy.
• Document clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, maintaining compliance with all regulations.
• Engage clients and families in their care, educating them on physical therapy practices and the usage of therapy devices.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective therapy services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role centers on working with a diverse patient demographic, consisting of individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions affecting mobility. Your therapy will be designed to accommodate patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric clients, each requiring personalized treatment approaches tailored to their specific rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• A current and valid physical therapy license in the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification to ensure the safety of clients.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance for travel to patient locations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is preferred, enhancing your knowledge base and clinical practice.
• At least one year of experience as a physical therapist in home care or acute care settings, demonstrating adaptability to various patient needs.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and governing agency regulations governing healthcare practices.
• Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
