Work Environment

The ideal candidate will work onsite in the homes of clients throughout East Brunswick, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment to prevent disabilities, alleviate pain, and enhance muscle function, developing individualized treatment plans based on client assessments.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) to ensure the effective execution of therapeutic interventions as prescribed in the plan of care.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical abilities, utilizing diagnostic tests to gauge muscle, joint, and overall functional capacity.
• Assess the home environment for rehabilitation potential, making recommendations that empower clients to achieve greater independence.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises and instruct clients in both manual and non-manual interventions to support their rehabilitation journey.
• Employ traction and massage techniques and utilize various physical agents to enhance treatment outcomes.
• Evaluate, fit, and recommend prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians on necessary modifications to optimize client care.
• Document clinical progress accurately, preparing comprehensive reports and updating treatment plans to reflect changes in client condition.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings, providing insights and collaborating on comprehensive care plans tailored to each client.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring shared understanding of therapy programs and device utilization.
• Complete assignments promptly, maintaining compliance with clinical and payroll documentation as mandated by organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physical therapist will primarily work with clients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, chronic musculoskeletal disorders, and related injuries. Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.

• Hold a current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required for travel to client homes.
• Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and effectively solve problems in a clinical context.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in home health care settings, particularly with orthopedic patients.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems for managing patient data and documenting care activities.
• Previous experience supervising PTAs or a clear understanding of collaborative team dynamics in therapeutic settings.

Compensation and Benefits

The offered salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
