Reporting to the Director of Human Resources/ITPSO, this role independently manages onboarding and offboarding, recruiting coordination, HRIS administration, benefits and leave support, first‑line employee relations, and HR compliance, while providing guidance to HR support staff. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted, approachable point of contact for employees and managers, translating HR policies into practical day‑to‑day guidance. The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment, maintains strict confidentiality, and thrives managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding, including new hire documentation, orientation delivery, exit processing, and termination paperwork. Own the accuracy and integrity of employee personnel files, digital records, and compliance documents in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. Process HRIS transactions (new hires, promotions, status changes, terminations) and generate reports for the HR Director and leadership. Administer timekeeping and attendance processes, partnering with payroll to resolve discrepancies. Recruiting & Hiring Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities: job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, candidate communication, reference checks, and pre‑employment screenings. Partner with hiring managers on job descriptions, interview plans, and hiring metrics. Employee Relations Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns; resolve routine matters independently and elevate complex issues to the HR Director. Support workplace investigations, documentation of performance issues, and follow‑through on corrective actions under the HR Director's guidance. Support managers with performance review cycles, probationary reviews, and feedback conversations. Benefits & Leave Administration Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and questions; support open enrollment logistics. Coordinate leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA), workers' compensation claims, and return‑to‑work processes in partnership with the HR Director. Compliance & Policy Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California‑specific requirements. Maintain I‑9s, audit‑ready employee files, required postings, and support regulatory filings (e.g., EEO‑1, CA Pay Data Report) as directed. Draft and distribute HR communications; assist with policy updates and employee handbook maintenance. Engagement, Culture & Team Support Plan and maintain employee events, recognition programs, training logistics, and culture initiatives. Support companywide initiatives and cross‑departmental projects as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred); equivalent combination of education and experience considered. 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 1 year in a generalist or equivalent hands‑on HR role. Working knowledge of federal and California employment law (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC requirements). Proficient with HRIS platforms, Paylocity, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred. Physical Requirements: Primarily office‑based environment with standard computer workstation use. Must be able to sit, stand, and operate standard office equipment for extended periods. Capable of standing, bending, and lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally (e.g., event setup, file management).
