We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Black Stone Diagnostic and Counseling Center. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to provide remote telehealth services, specializing in the mental health treatment of children and adolescents. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and addressing a variety of mental health challenges impacting the young population, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

Work Environment\n

This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location while also ensuring that our clients receive high-quality therapy from the comfort of their own homes. You will work Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. Our telehealth setup is equipped with the latest technology to streamline patient interactions, enabling you to focus on delivering effective and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the unique needs of children and adolescents.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that consider the individual developmental stages and family dynamics of each patient.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to address various mental health concerns effectively.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers, fostering a supportive atmosphere at home.

• Collaborate closely with child psychiatrists and other professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care for our young patients.

• Offer crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, ensuring prompt and effective care is delivered.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, navigating treatment options, and connecting them with valuable community resources.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy in all records.

• Engage in team meetings and case consultations that promote collaborative treatment approaches and shared learning amongst professionals.

• Stay abreast of current research developments and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry through continuous professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents facing a range of mental health issues. This demographic often requires tailored strategies that integrate their developmental needs and unique familial contexts. Working closely with patients, you will not only assist in treatment but also empower caregivers to play a proactive role in the therapeutic journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working directly with children and adolescents in a mental health setting.
\n
• In-depth understanding of various child and adolescent mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
\n
• Proven experience in providing individual and family therapy to young individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and child-centric approach to care.
\n
• Ability to build rapport and establish trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficient in various computer applications.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to create cohesive care strategies.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in a telehealth setting is desirable, with familiarity in using video conferencing platforms for therapy.

• Background in implementing therapeutic models tailored to children and adolescents, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Compensation and Benefits\n
