This is a great opportunity for a recent college grad looking to gain some experience in a dynamic growing organization. The ideal candidate for this opportunity can work independently with minimum supervision, is detail oriented, well-organized and is a fast learner. This is an onsite position.Responsibilities:Work under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant in the following areas:Accounts payable cycle:Ensure accurate and timely information is entered into the accounting systemReconcile vendor accounts monthlyManage accounts payable inbox for invoices received and customer correspondencePrepare documentation for cash disbursement cycleAccounts receivable cycle:Ensure cash receipts are applied to invoices accurately and timelyManage accounts receivable inbox for remittance and vendor correspondenceReconcile customer accountsAssist in the preparation of monthly invoices to clientsMonth close cycle:Reconcile general ledger accounts as neededPrepare journal entries and required backup supportPayroll cycle:Ensure all expense reimbursement have receipts and are coded to the correct project and accounting periodMaintain files and/or financial documents using an organization electronic filing systemWorks with Project Managers regarding billing instructions and invoice approvalsRecord administrative and office expenses in various software programsPerform data entry tasks ensuring accuracy, paying close attention to detailsPrepares spreadsheets and reports as neededCollaborate with others on special projects as needed, including ongoing process improvementPerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Bachelor 's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area strongly preferred0 - 2 years accounting experience preferredGeneral understanding of accounting practices and principlesBroad understanding of accounting cycle and financial statementsExcellent writing, communication, and organizational skillsHighly motivated and willing to take the initiativeAbility to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial dataSolid prioritization and attention to detail skillsExperience with the MS Office Suite, especially ExcelExperience with Deltek/Vantagepoint ERP software a plusAbility to work independently and in a team environment.The hourly range for this position is $29 to $36 per hour.
