The Office of AIDS (OA) is an office within the California Department of Public Health, Center for Infectious Diseases, Division of HIV, HCV, and STIs. The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Branch, within OA, helps ensure that people living with HIV/AIDS who are uninsured and under insured have access to medication on ADAP’s formulary. Insurance premium payment programs within the ADAP Branch provide assistance designed to ensure access to medical care and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Department Website: Job Description and Duties The incumbent works under direction from the Staff Services Manager I in the Contracts and Grants Unit (CGU). The Analyst II works collaboratively with managers and staff across Office of AIDS (OA) Branches, Sections, and Units to support the AIDS Drug Assistance Program Branch (ADAP). The Analyst II uses programmatic and surveillance data to understand the status of HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) epidemics, identify strategies and actions for reducing the number of new cases of HIV and STIs and eliminating health inequities that result in disproportionate disease burdens among marginalized demographic groups, and aligns and mobilizes resources and stakeholders to achieve goals. In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
