Office of Policy and Planning (OPP) The OPP promotes public health policy priorities and supports CDPH capabilities for community health improvement, research, analysis, planning, decision intelligence, lean transformation, and grants management. It leads comprehensive strategic planning to address emerging public health and equity priorities. Position Overview A Lean Transformation Analyst II supports the CDPH mission by promoting and implementing Lean and Continuous Improvement tools across CDPH. The analyst works under the direction of the Supervisor I in the Lean Capability Building Section, collaborating with teams to observe, analyze, and improve complex processes, eliminate waste, enhance customer service, and increase program impact. Responsibilities Identify opportunities for Lean improvement within CDPH operations. Facilitate value‐stream mapping, root‑cause analysis, and other Lean tools with cross‑functional teams. Develop and present data‑driven improvement recommendations. Coordinate pilot tests and measurement of results to sustain quality improvement initiatives. Support capacity building and training in Lean principles for departmental staff. Eligibility & Working Conditions Position may require telework; Telework policy and duration are determined by the Department. Candidate must be a California resident and maintain primary residency in the state. Some travel may be required; travel reimbursement follows Department policy. Position subject to the 2025 Personal Leave Program (PLP), reducing base pay by 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
