Assistant Professor - Woodwinds Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program

Overview Providing clinical instruction to and oversight of medical residents and medical students in the ambulatory clinic, hospital, and other training sites. Providing didactic instruction (seminars, lectures, workshops, grand rounds). Mentoring and advising residents and medical students. Providing patient care at the clinic and hospital in full-scope family medicine, including obstetrics. Curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. Administrative duties, including participating in faculty meetings, serving on committees, participating in accreditation and other reviews, and representing the program at professional and organization meetings as appropriate. Deliver didactic instruction through seminars, lectures, workshops, and grand rounds. Mentor and advise residents and medical students. Provide patient care in full-scope family medicine, including obstetrics, at clinics and hospitals. Engage in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Perform administrative duties, participate in faculty meetings, serve on committees, participate in accreditation activities, and represent the program at professional meetings. Pursue faculty development and scholarly activities as opportunities arise. Qualifications Required: MD or DO degree; completion of a Family Medicine residency; board certified in specialty; licensed or eligible in Minnesota. Preferred: Three or more years of practice experience beyond residency completion. One or more years of medical teaching experience. Experience in educational program and curriculum development and evaluation. Experience in scholarly activities and in mentoring trainees in scholarly activities. About the Department The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 45 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota begins at $52,000 (academic effort dependent). Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary ranges from $210,000 to $230,000 and may vary based on taking medicine and/or OB call, years of experience, and rank. Salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Additional compensation opportunities are available via the department's incentive pay plan.
