Derick Mental Health Counseling is in search of a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide exceptional care in our remote outpatient setting based in Santa Ana, California. As a full-time member of our team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions to clients facing mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. This position offers an annual salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000, along with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to assess the severity, frequency, and duration of symptoms related to mood disorders, ensuring that client evaluations are thorough and detailed.

• Collaborate with clients to formulate individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs, preferences, and recovery objectives.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to aid clients in managing their conditions effectively.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, potential treatment pathways, and self-care strategies that can be integrated into daily routines.

• Monitor and document clients’ progress diligently throughout the treatment process and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.

• Work alongside psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to mental health treatment.

• Engage in continuous professional development by staying current with research and best practices in the treatment of mood disorders.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment strategies to uphold ethical and legal standards.

• Participate actively in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and strategies to improve client outcomes.

• Advocate for clients to reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues and promote their rights and needs effectively.

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse demographic of clients experiencing mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in fields such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid license (LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT) in the state of California is necessary to practice legally.

• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities for mood disorders, including but not limited to CBT and DBT, is essential.

• A solid understanding of psychopharmacology and the capacity to communicate effectively with psychiatric professionals regarding treatment options.

• A proven track record of achieving positive clinical outcomes in managing mood disorders is preferred.
