Atlantis Psychotherapy Service is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese to join our dynamic team. This full-time position allows for flexible scheduling, primarily focusing on providing intensive in-community therapeutic services to children facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges.

Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, offering you the flexibility to conduct therapy sessions in various settings, including in-home and our outpatient office. Due to the nature of therapy services, your work will involve direct interactions with clients in their home environment or through online platforms. As part of a close-knit team, you will have regular opportunities for collaboration via virtual meetings and ongoing training sessions.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide individual or group therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each child, either in-home or at our outpatient center.
\n
• Deliver evidence-based interventions aimed at improving coping mechanisms, anger management, and social skills while addressing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Support youth and caretakers in developing effective decision-making skills to manage behavioral challenges encountered at home.
\n
• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and interdisciplinary professionals to coordinate care and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss patient progress and share recommendations for enhanced service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our focus is on children aged 3 to 20 years old who are navigating the complexities of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). By providing specialized therapeutic interventions, we aim to empower these children to express themselves, manage their emotions, and engage positively with their families and communities.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is a must to practice within the state of California.
\n
• Availability for a minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week, preferably during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend options as a plus.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in delivering positive behavior support strategies.
\n
• Prior work with children aged 3-20, particularly those with I/DD, is highly desirable.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle.
\n
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure the safety of clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
