Job Summary: As a Sous Chef I , you will support the overall success of a high-profile, multi-unit corporate dining operation in NYC , with a focus on high-volume café operations, elevated dining, and catering services . This role assists with culinary execution across multiple service areas, ensuring consistency, quality, and operational excellence. The Sous Chef I helps ensure exceptional food quality, freshness, presentation, and service across daily café operations and catered events. The Sous Chef alsoplays a key leadership role in training, developing, and directing back-of-house teams across a fast-paced, multi-unit environment , helping drive efficient execution, strong culinary standards, and an outstanding dining experience for clients and guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support menu execution, production planning, ordering, inventory management, and food preparation while maintaining company, client, and NYC Health Department standards. Assists in coordinating and participating in the preparation and cooking of various food items. Assists with planning and creating menus. Supports catering events as needed. Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team. Assists with managing cost controls and controlling expenditure. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: At least 3 years of related culinary management experience required for this role. Experience in corporate dining, fine dining restaurants, and/or related food service operations preferred. Catering experience preferred. Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation. Ability to set up and distribute production sheets. Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills. ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred. Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel.
