Bookkeeper

Our client, a financial services company based in Boston, is hiring a part-time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting operations. This role handles accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance for a small but growing client base.

The position works closely with the accounting manager to ensure accurate, timely financial records ahead of monthly close. Candidates should be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while meeting recurring deadlines.

This is an on-site, part-time position offering flexible scheduling within standard business hours, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
• Maintain and update the general ledger
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close
• Generate basic financial reports for management review
• Track and file expense reports and receipts
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and payments

Requirements

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong Excel skills including basic formulas and pivot tables
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with GAAP basics preferred
