Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as the Operating Room Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in labor and delivery, along with post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) experience, and be able to assist with cesarean sections and the recovery of patients who have undergone anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Oversee surgical schedules, room turnover, and patient flow to ensure efficient operations. Provide direct patient care as necessary.
• Staff Management: Handle staffing, shift scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and mentorship for operating room nurses and surgical technicians.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforce hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements, such as OSHA and AORN guidelines.
• Resource Coordination: Monitor and manage inventory, surgical instruments, and equipment procurement in coordination with central processing and vendors.
• Interdepartmental Liaison: Communicate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and pre/post-operative units to resolve issues and maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a degree in a related healthcare field.
• Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5 years of clinical operating room experience, with prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong leadership abilities, crisis management skills, excellent communication, and working knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile processing techniques.
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Licensure: Kansas or Multistate license required.
• Additional Experience: Central sterile experience is beneficial.

Work Schedule

Select a work schedule that best suits your needs, either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, or four 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

Call Requirements

Available for call duty 10-14 days per month, focused specifically on obstetric C-sections. Call response time is 30 minutes.

Housing and Amenities

Accommodations include local hotels and rental options available in nearby towns. Scrubs will be provided by the organization.

EMR Systems

Experience with CPSI - Evident and PeriGen for OB electronic medical records is preferred.
