Work Environment

This role operates in a remote work setting utilizing a telehealth model, allowing you the flexibility to support clients from the comfort of your own space. Working hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed to meet the demands of client appointments and organizational needs. Our telehealth platform is designed to promote secure and accessible consultations, facilitating real-time interaction while prioritizing client confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized treatment plans, incorporating pre-crisis and crisis planning to ensure client safety and well-being.
• Provide documentation and treatment progress reports in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurately reflect client care.
• Implement evidence-based screening tools to inform clinical decisions and enhancement of therapeutic approaches, collaborating with team members to refine these methods.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute positive behavior support plans that align with the overarching therapeutic goals.
• Actively participate in licensing and accreditation processes to uphold the clinic's standards of care.
• Establish relationships with state agencies, community partners, and relevant service systems to coordinate care and expand the support network for clients.
• Promote open communication channels among the healthcare team to meet compliance standards and advance the mission of Avenue Psychotherapy Services.
• Engage in professional development activities like attending conferences, workshops, and committees aimed at enhancing expertise in geriatric mental health.
• Consistently uphold and promote the agency’s mission, values, and principles within the community and professional realms.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director aligned with the mission and goals of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position specifically serves the geriatric population, focusing on individuals facing the complexities of aging. Counselors will work with seniors dealing with issues stemming from life transitions, loss, and emotional adjustments associated with aging. The sensitivity required for such client interactions necessitates a collaborative and empathetic approach to counseling.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in Massachusetts.
• At least 4 years of recent experience in geriatric mental health counseling or a related field.
• Specialized training or additional certifications in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.

Preferred Experience

While the position requires the above qualifications, additional training in trauma-informed care, mindfulness techniques, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities will be considered advantageous. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems is also desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary range of $70,000 to $95,000, reflecting experience, education, and overall contributions to the organization.
