Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! Compensation:

$101,000 - $159,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

• Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
• Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
• Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
• Keep client files properly organized and up to date

• Manage an assigned caseload from intake and pleadings through mediation, hearing, trial, and final judgment.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement documents, and proposed orders.
• Appear at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials throughout Florida as assigned.
• Maintain timely client communication and clear documentation in the case-management system.
• Direct paralegal work, calendar deadlines, and collaborate with the legal team on case strategy.
• Meet ethical, quality, productivity, and client-service standards.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
• Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
• Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred
• Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required
• Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)

• Active, unrestricted membership in The Florida Bar.
• Family-law litigation experience in Florida.
• Strong legal writing, negotiation, courtroom, and client-management skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and a full caseload.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for proceedings when required.
